At MRGS, we are using Moodle so that our students are able to take advantage of shared learning experiences and create communities of learners that extend outside the classroom.
Mt Roskill Grammar School had used Moodle for several years in only a couple of learning areas. Since 2009, in response to professional learning around e-learning, all departments are developing courses to enhance teaching and learning for students. iLearn is now an attractive, inviting and well organised site.
A recent student survey shows 65% of the students use iLearn to support their learning out of school. 50% use iLearn to communicate with their classmates and 46% use it to communicate with their teacher.
The number of students accessing iLearn has increased from students in 2 subjects, to 1547 users across 20 subjects and 200 courses.
