How do I contribute a Sample Course?
To share a Moodle course on http://samplecourses.moodleinschools.org.nz login to the Moodle in Schools Moodle site, head to Sample Courses and under the Site Administration block click on the Courses option then on Add/edit courses. From there, click on the Add a new course button or navigate to the relevant Course Category and then on the Add a new course button. Add in the required mandatory course information (Course Full name, Short name) and adjust any optional settings as required and click the Save changes button.
The next step is to add a Teacher or Students (Roles) to the course, but if you'd like to skip this section, click on the course Short name in the navigation bar (breadcrumbs) to move back to the main page for your new course. From this course page you can either start building your course using the Moodle editing and content correction tools, or, if you have your course already built and backed up in a .zip or .tar file, click on the Restore option under the course Administration block and select Upload a file to find (Browse) and add (Upload this file) your zip file to the course files area. Once your compressed file has been uploaded, click on the Restore link opposite the file you wish to open.
Follow the onscreen prompts, ensuring you select Current course, adding data to it or Current course, deleting it first from the Restore dropdown menu on the second stage of the upload process. Complete the restore process by clicking Continue at the bottom screen until your course has been successfully restored and uploaded to the Sample Courses site.
